Nip Drivers - Destroy Whitey + Oh Blessed Freak Show

Taang! records 2000

A mere fourteen months after its inital solicitation the CD-reissue of these two early '80s "classic" L.A. hardcore records has arrived.
All the tracks from the originals plus four bonus cuts. Includes their always offensive covers of "Rio," "Have You Never Been Mellow?," and "Fox on the Run," twenty-eight in all.
Digitally remastered to ensure epileptic listening pleasure.

The rock/punk of the early 80's that surpasses all else before and after!
Nip Drivers have been broke up and apart for years, sorta. I hear they still play show around the L.A. area every now and then. Who knows? It's impossible to find out anything about them these days. Last release was "Dirt My Hole" in 1995, but I'm not sure if even that was related to still being together or not. Every one of their releases is hard to find. (from THIS page)
The Nip Drivers will always remain in my head as one of the best bands around. They sounded like no other. Really. I cannot put my finger on who they are even comparable to as far as sound and style. Mike says that he was influenced by Jeff and Steve McDonald from Redd Kross. Black Flag of course, but it was IGGY that got him into the lifestyle of living fast, sing in a band, and Don't Give A Fuck! (from THIS other one)

I love Oh Blessed Freak Show. I was lucky enough to book them a couple times in the early 90s @ Gilman. They had Jula from Bulemia Banquet with them then.
